MCH to Meet in Great Falls

MCH’s winter quarterly meeting will occur January 30th-February 1st in Great Falls. On Friday afternoon, January 30th, 5:30 PM, at the High Plains Heritage Center, 422 2nd Street South, UM professor and Speakers Bureau member Harry Fritz will present a lecture entitled "Montana in the 21st Century." A reception will follow the lecture. The quarterly meeting also will welcome new MCH members Rafael Chacon, Joan Hoff, Mark Johnson, Charlene Loge, and Michael Murphy. Join the Speakers Bureau

New Media Collection Catalog

Thanks to University of Montana Mansfield Library staff, the new, updated, and fully searchable MCH Media Collection catalog is up and running http://www.humanities-mt.org/media.htm .

Key Ingredients Comes to Montana

MCH will sponsor the Smithsonian Institution exhibit Key Ingredients: America By Food http://www.keyingredients.org/ for an extended Montana visit in 2006. MCH will select six rural Montana museums to host the exhibit. Discovering Lewis and Clark Added to EDSITEment

Discovering Lewis and Clark, the award-winning Montana-based Lewis and Clark website, http://www.lewis-clark.org/ has been elected to EDSITEment, http://edsitement.neh.gov/ NEH’s "best of the humanities on the web" site. DL&C has received three MCH grants and much MCH encouragement since its inception in 1996.

Montana Festival of the Book

2004 Montana Festival of the Book is now scheduled for October 1st-2nd in Missoula. Further information http://www.bookfest-mt.org/ .

Apply for an MCH Grant

The next major grant proposal deadline, for requests over $3,000, is March 20th. Requests under $3,000 are due the 20th of each month. Prospective proposers should check with MCH for availability of funds. Further information http://www.humanities-mt.org/grants.htm .
