Branding Missoula as a leading creative community

Missoula brand development firm, WMQ Strategic Studio Inc., teams with the Missoula Cultural Council to produce a video that brands Missoula as a leading creative community.

A ‘brand video’ is a short five to seven minute movie that articulates vision, values, or functionality of the brand in order to enhance company/public understanding. A brand video can be used in a variety of marketing platforms: presentations, compressed for web, and packaged as an informative CD/DVD.

Last fall WMQ teamed up with the Missoula Cultural Council to support the creative movement in Missoula. They believe that creativity in Missoula is the economic driver:
Missoula has long held the reputation as a creative community. From the University of Montana’s strong liberal arts and writing programs to the world-class authors and painters, there is no shortcoming of creative talent. So how does this symptom economic potential?

The ability to express oneself and the communities that tolerate such expressions is critical for new inventions, ideas, and subsequently, economic growth.
Undoubtedly, Missoula showcases such tolerance with a library of eccentric personalities strolling down Higgins. What sometimes goes unnoticed is the impressive caliber of talent residing in this community. Former Nike advertisers, Microsoft software programmers, dot-comers, independent filmmakers/songwriters, and NASA engineers all live in Missoula right now. As technology continues to disintermediate urban economic restraints, the collaboration of technology and Missoula’s creative thinking positions the community for an economic renaissance.

Eve Whitaker, Nicole Mrazek and Ken Quinn, Co-founders of WMQ Strategic Studio, Inc., will be presenting the brand video concept this Friday, January 16, 2004 at the Cultural Achievement and Business Support for the Art Awards in the Conference Center at St. Patrick’s Hospital.
