Site offering virtual tours of Arizona

Gov. Janet Napolitano launched the Arizona Scenic Roads Web site on Wednesday to help promote the state’s 22 officially designated scenic roads and promote travel to rural Arizona.

Visitors to http://www.Arizona ScenicRoads.com can take a colorful virtual tour of the state’s scenic byways and use the site to organize tours.

The Arizona Department of Transportation, state Office of Tourism and Arizona Highways collaborated on the site, which is funded by a Federal Highway Administration grant.

The site also features a chance to win an Arizona Scenic Road Trip Package that includes a rental car for up to six weeks, $2,500 in spending money, a $500 gas card and road-trip survival kit. Registration deadline is Dec. 31.
