Free Resource for Rural Small Business

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

I recently became aware of this website as a possible resource to you all regarding small business and entrepreneurial development in your states. http://www.ItsSimple.biz is a free internet based resource center to assist small business creation across the country.

The site was funded by the USDA through a SBIR grant and has been in development for 3 years. It recently expanded to include information about counseling and training opportunities in every state. This includes agencies and non-profits who offer free or low cost assistance to small business – SBA, USDA, DOL, Small Business Development Centers and some micro-lenders and development authorities.

I believe in the coming year they will hopefully have state-specific information for all 50 states. Hopefully this will be helpful to everyone. I hope you are all doing well and have a good day!
