The Houston-based company will build office space, a docking area, refrigeration and dry storage space. The $25 million center will likely employ between 150 and 200 people, said John Palizza, Sysco assistant treasurer.

The operation will distribute meat, produce and dairy products to customers in Spokane and Yakima, Wash., and northern Idaho.

“Everything you need to run a restaurant, you can get from Sysco,” Palizza said.

The Post Falls plant could be operational in spring 2005.
