Helena Mayor Wilmot Collins, Liberian Refugee To Speak At University Of Montana Oct. 17 - Missoula

Helena Mayor Wilmot Collins will present a lecture titled gGlobal Migrationh at the University of Montana at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, in Gallagher Business Building Room 106. Missoula Mayor John Engen will provide introductory remarks at the free and public event.

Collins is a former refugee who fled his native Liberia in 1994. He moved to Helena, became a U.S. citizen, served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and became a child protection specialist with the Montana Department of Health and Human Services. He is also an adjunct professor at Helena College. In 2017, he was elected mayor of Helena.
