Downtown convention center should be large, versatile, and capture Billings’ character, One Big Sky developer says

The vision for the One Big Sky District is getting bigger and coming into clearer focus.

Bob Dunn, president of Landmark LLC, which is studying and helping to compile an economic model for developing the downtown and hospital neighborhoods, told the Billings City Council Monday that the initial anchor for the project, a convention center, should be up to four times the size available in other Montana communities, and versatile enough to boost tourism and "leverage the Montana experience."

That kind of authentic experience, he said, is already available to the half-million or so people who routinely shop and receive health care in Billings, in such places as Montana Avenue.
