Montana State University and the Montana Television Network partner to conduct state-wide poll in September

Montana State University and the Montana Television Network, MTN, are partnering to conduct the most extensive political polls in the state this fall and surveys will be coming to mailboxes soon.

The first of two surveys will be mailed to 10,000 Montana households in September. The survey envelopes will carry the logos of MSU and MTN.

"Polls are a very important part of running our democracy," said David Parker, MSU associate professor of political science. "Polls can tell elected officials what Montanans are really thinking. Sometimes polls confirm the guesses and gut instincts of politicians and sometimes they contradict them. Both outcomes improve government and its accountability to the people."
