Building a Greater Montana – Gov. Steve Bullock

This week, I am welcoming everyone in Montana back to school and I am looking forward to another incredible school year full of opportunities to learn, explore, and make a difference in our state.

As the father of three school aged children, nothing is more important to me than making sure Montana’s students have the same opportunities that were afforded to me by a quality public education in Montana.

Our education system is our nation’s great equalizer. Regardless of our backgrounds or where we live our schools open the doors of opportunity to all Montanans.

My wife Lisa and I are both products of public education in Montana and our three kids go to the same schools we attended.

Montana’s students will grow up to become the next entrepreneurs and business leaders, the construction workers and pipefitters who build our homes and businesses, the doctors and nurses who care for our families and neighbors, and the engineers and architects who design our growing communities. Some will even become the next teachers within our schools who educate the future generations of Montanans. But it all starts today.

Today, we are making an investment in our future and in the future of our great state. Because it is these very students who will one day lead the people of Montana.

When we look back on this school year and all the success Montana’s students have had in the classroom, in our communities, or on the field, let’s make sure everyone has shared in that success. Let’s lift each other up, be kind to one another, and share in the progress of building an even greater Montana than before.

Here’s to another successful school year and to all of the amazing things Montana students will accomplish this year and in the future.

Sincerely,

STEVE BULLOCK
Governor
