Montana State University Billings professor snags grant for research of rare neurological disease
August 8, 2018 /
The grant, from the National Institutes of Health, is aimed at smaller research institutions. MSUB announced last week that Lynn George, an assistant professor of molecular biology, secured a grant for $395,533.
George has been doing DNA-level research into familial dysautonomia for about seven years. The disease is rare, but those who carry it are often diagnosed early in life.
It’s a progressive disease that causes a host of issues with involuntary nervous system functions.
