The SBA is offering grants to build Regional Innovation Clusters. Your community, county or region should apply

The SBA, Office of Entrepreneurial Development (OED), has a need for professional support of its Regional Innovation Clusters Program. As a result of the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, the SBA intends to award an estimated total of seven contracts to contractors to head cluster initiatives. Each contract will be for a base year and four option years. The base year is expected to be for a firm-fixed, level-of-effort (not-to-exceed) price of $500,000.00

With respect to the grant please make note there is emphasis on "Rural Area". SBA is using the Census definition of "Rural Area" in this case. Census definition of "Rural" is unlike the one we are most familiar with, being USDA- Rural Development. Although perplexing rational to many of us, the following Montana counties are considered "Mostly Urban" according to the Census definition.

Custer County

Dawson County

Deer Lodge County

Fergus County

Gallatin County

Glacier County

Hill County

Lewis and Clark County

Missoula County

Park County

Richland County

Roosevelt County

Silver Bow County

Toole County

Yellowstone County
