Nampa nonprofit’s "Shoe That Grows" has helped kids abroad. Now it’s going commercial

For three years, The Shoe That Grows https://theshoethatgrows.org/ , a Nampa nonprofit, has been distributing an expandable shoe to children in developing countries. Turns out that not just kids think the shoes are cool.

"We’ve always had people asking if they could buy the shoes for their kids," says founder Kenton Lee. "We always kind of said no, that’s not really our model. We’re a nonprofit; we’re trying to get them to kids who can’t afford them and really need them."

But the idea was always in the back of his mind.
