Great Falls Economic Development Top 10 for 4-30-18

Here is our Top 16 for last week, celebrating work and successes to grow and strengthen the Great Falls regional economy.

1) Governor Bullock designated our top priority census tract to become an Opportunity Zone. Tract 108, which encompasses the heart of downtown Great Falls, will be eligible to attract investors with a strong capital gains tax incentive. GFDA is taking steps to create a vehicle for Opportunity Fund investors. As soon as federal regulations are more complete, we will host a forum for interested investors, developers, businesses and advisors.

2) We were awarded a $300,000 Community-Wide Assessment grant from the EPA to help revitalize brownfield sites and transform them into community assets. Our continued focus will be on downtown and riverfront redevelopment, but sites throughout the city are eligible. See Tribune story for more details. For more information on how this redevelopment tool can be used to assist in your project or site, contact Lillian Sunwall at [email protected] or (406) 750-1253.
