Flathead Valley Community College to Offer New Maker Skills Class Fall Semester

Flathead Valley Community College announces a new introductory class for people interested in learning how to design and make electro-mechanical things. "ETEC 100: Introduction to Maker Skills" is a three-credit class that includes lecture, labs and hands-on experience with 3D design and printing, bench-top milling machines, electronics and micro-controllers.

Under the instruction of Advanced Manufacturing Instructor Dan Leatzow, Ph.D. and Math, Physics and Engineering Instructor Tim Price, students will work together to design, build and test a project over the course of 15 weeks.

In order to register for the class, students must first be admitted to FVCC for the fall semester. The deadline to apply for admission is August 22. The class is scheduled from 3 to 5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning August 29 and concluding December 17.
