Seattle City Council Approves Changes to Reduce Parking Requirements

Seattle council members on Monday approved changes to the parking code that they hope will ultimately tackle their carbon-free, pedestrian-and-bike-friendly, affordable vision for the city.

Both on and off street parking requirements are only going to decrease as more use Uber type systems and eventually subscription to autonomous vehicle services which removes the need for individuals to own cars.

The key element will be the ability to easily access the car services. Take a look at SF which hasn't taken this into account and the congestion at busy venues is considerable just because it's tough to get into and out of a car without stopping traffic.
