Fiber optic cable coming to Choteau, Montana Thanks to 3 Rivers Telephone Cooperative

Fairfield-based 3 Rivers Telephone Cooperative plans to install state-of-the-art fiber optic cable in the city of Choteau starting in the spring of 2019, it was announced via postcards to residents last month.

The company finished laying fiber optic cable along county roads in the Choteau and Fairfield rural telephone exchanges last fall. Only four towns in its service area do not have fiber: Choteau, Valier, Belt and Neihart, said Don Serido, 3 Rivers marketing manager. Three Rivers has an estimated 20,000 subscribers along 19,000 miles of lines spread over a 17,000-square-mile area.
