Laser technology in Gallatin Valley: The future is now

The Gallatin Valley is known as a center of laser technology.

Laser and photonics technology came to the valley starting in the 1980s. Since then, the industry has grown exponentially with currently more than 40 companies calling Montana home.

There was more technical expertise here in Bozeman than where they were at," said Jason Yager, operations manager at Quantel Laser.

The next time you unlock your phone or snap a photo, the technology used to complete the task may have come from right here in Montana.
