$1 million Funding Available to Montana Schools for Broadband Upgrades

This is a terrific opportunity to get your students connected to high-speed broadband, but $1 million of the funding is only available until June 2018.

Every district in Montana stands to benefit from this opportunity. We want to be sure every dollar of this funding is accessed and put to good use in your schools.

Dear School Leaders,

We contact you today in the interest of supporting your leadership to provide the very best education to the students in your communities. These days, that often involves having the right technology in schools, including a high-speed Internet connection to connect students to the world of resources across Montana, the country, and the global community.

For the past two and half years, Governor Steve Bullock and a team of state agencies, school associations, and a non-profit partner have been helping schools upgrade to faster Internet speeds by connecting them to funding opportunities and other resources.

This effort is called the Broadband for Montana Schools Program, which got a big boost by the state Legislature when it approved a $2 million school broadband fund virtually unanimously. These funds, coupled with federal E-rate dollars, could cover up to 100 percent of your cost of upgrading to a faster technology.
