Missoula Job Service spends 2 days a week in Hamilton
A service to help people in the Bitterroot with employment needs on a personal one-on-one basis has workforce consultants busy.
The Bitterroot Job Service closed Oct. 31 due to budget cuts. The office was consolidated with Job Service Missoula.
Two Job Service Missoula workers spend two days a week in Hamilton. They said anywhere from a dozen to 15 clients walk in to their office on the days they are open. Many are coming from remote stretches of the valley.
"We get people south of Darby," said workforce consultant DeLynn Gardner. "By the time they hit Hamilton they’ve already driven quite a ways to get here. They may not have access to computer services. Sometimes the computer internet service that we have here is not always reliable."
