Montana Tech chapter of national organization seeks to encourage people of color to pursue engineering

The National Society of Black Engineers, based in Alexandria, Virginia, reports that it has more than 500 chapters and more than 17,000 active members worldwide. The organization, founded in 1975, works to widen the pool of engineering talent to include more people of color.
Opoku-Ware is president of Tech’s NSBE chapter and previously was a member of a chapter in Ghana, where Tech has a longstanding partnership with the University of Mines and Technology.
