Hamilton has been awarded a $450,000 grant from the Montana Department of Commerce for construction of a Ravalli Early Head Start building, play area and drop-off loop.

Marjorie Vegoren, early childhood and disabilities manager, said the staff is thrilled to have the funds to build on the same property as Ravalli Head Start.

"It will make transitions for kids and families much smoother. It will have an effect on how efficiently we can carry out operations," she said. "We are very excited to be all on one campus."

Eight towns, cities, and counties across Montana will receive funds through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), a federally-funded program Commerce administers for Montana.
