Bozeman group gathers goods for Missoula refugee families

When she first heard about the drive to collect household goods for refugee families in Missoula, Jane Maggard only had one thought: What if the tables were turned?

"What if it was my family?" Maggard said. "We’re supposed to show love for our neighbor, and our neighbor is anyone who is in need."

"These refugee families that come here have nothing and need all the help they can get," she added.

The drive, gathering welcome kits for the five new refugee families arriving in Missoula as part of the city’s resettlement program, Soft Landing Missoula https://softlandingmissoula.org/ , was organized by Gallatin Refugee Connections https://www.facebook.com/gallatinrefugeeconnections/ . The Bozeman-based nonprofit formed last year in an effort to create a welcoming environment for refugees through community conversations and various activities.
