Koch-funded Montana State University research sparks protests to regents
Critics are asking the Montana Board of Regents to reject a proposed economics research center http://www.montana.edu/regecon/ at Montana State University, charging that the Charles Koch Foundation’s $5.7 million grant is an attempt to use the university to promote a "right-wing ideology."
The regents, meeting in Butte for two days, heard criticisms from former Bozeman Mayor Steve Kirchhoff and an MSU student. In addition, Bozeman attorney Jim Goetz wrote an opinion column for the Montana Standard newspaper that was published during the regents’ visit.
