GoFundMe Campaign – Help rebuild the historic Sperry Chalet in Glacier National Park!

Glacier National Park lost a historic structure on August 31, 2017, Sperry Chalet http://www.sperrychalet.com/. After a valiant stand to save the structure, firefighters were unsuccessful. Luckily no human lives were claimed but the chalet is destroyed.

Glacier Park’s Sperry Chalet burns down http://www.matr.net/article-78627.html

We need your help to let Glacier National Park know how important it is to keep this historic landmark available to the public and funds for Belton Chalet Inc, the concessionaire that operates the chalet, to rebuild.

As a person who loves Sperry Chalet, I felt compelled to help. While the Glacier National Park Conservancy is also helping and I greatly applaud that effort, I understand they cannot support a private entity, the concessionaire. They will have a big role in expenses such as trails and bridges. Please join me in supporting both!

This Go Fund Me https://www.gofundme.com/sperrychalet will go directly to the Belton Chalets Inc. to cover construction costs, furnishings and other supplies lost that are needed to open a new lodge.

We don’t know what that will cost yet. We do know that the cost to rebuild in a remote location along with the loss of income for this season and rebuilding time, will greatly impact this company. We wanted to get started to help send the message that we care, we want rebuilt and we are here to help! Please donate now!
