"Pies for Strength" in East Glacier, Montana

If you find yourself in Montana, you’ll be hard pressed to miss the vast number of roadside signs advertising its prized huckleberry, a small blueberry like fruit that is native to the Pacific Northwest. There’s huckleberry jam, huckleberry honey, just about huckleberry anything, except perhaps the fruit itself. Tucked away in the remote and beautiful East Glacier sits another Montana institution, Kathryn Hiestand’s Pies for Strength. Unsurprisingly one of the best sellers was huckleberry.

Many thanks to Donna W. for sharing this wonderful opportunity the next time you’re in East Glacier.
