Montana’s Frontier Angels Launches New Website – Your Opportunity to Invest in Montana’s Future

Frontier Angels http://www.frontierangels.com/ is re-launching as a group of 100+ individual angel investors across the state of MT who gather 6-8x annually in Bozeman, Missoula, and Billings to see emerging technology companies pitch and consider making investments. This group also invests time and money in strategic program initiatives to help accelerate the growth of the tech ecosystem in Montana. They are in the forefront of the future economic growth of Montana.

Investment Focus:

The group concentrates on emerging technology companies in software, devices, biotech, ag-tech, energy tech, and other sectors providing technology-leveraged gross margins. Seed and A-round capital stage will be the primary focus. Companies will initially be sourced from the greater PacNW and Rockies region, with particular emphasis on Montana firms. Over time, the group hopes to see quality Montana companies become 100% of the focus.

How it Works

Individual members pick and choose the opportunities they wish to invest in – as little as $5k or as much as $500k, and are free to form advisory or Board relationships with companies they meet. Individuals can also diversify their investments more broadly by participating in an optional Matching Fund which will programmatically invest in 30-50 early-stage companies over approximately 3 years.

Community Focus

The group concentrates both capital and experience around a focused set of foundational programs designed to help accelerate the commercial viability of quality technology companies in Montana. The primary mission is to help to create clean, high-paying jobs in our Montana communities while making smart investments. They are also making a very concerted effort to attract more women to angel investing in Montana since studies have consistently shown that the presence of women as investors leads to more female entrepreneurs coming forward for investment.

Partnerships

Frontier Angels works with MSU and UM, TechLink, the Department of Commerce, The Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Montech, and Blackstone Launchpads, to continue to conceive and commercialize technology in Montana. They also partner closely with Next Frontier Capital to ensure emerging companies have a clear path to continue their access to growth capital.
