Electric co-op still searching for manager

By the AP Helena IR

KALISPELL (AP) – Directors of Flathead Electric Cooperative are trying again to find a manager for the utility after three candidates turned down the job.

Manager Dick Heitman resigned three months ago and said he hoped to leave the cooperative by September. Heitman, 62, has held the job less than a year and said he wanted to be closer to family in Spokane.

Heitman said the position was unsuccessfully offered to managers of three other utilities.

The National Rural Electrical Cooperative Association is taking applications for the opening through Sept. 22 and hopes to have candidates lined up by the end of October.

Flathead Electric provides power to 43,000 Montana homes and businesses. It has 150 full-time employees and annual revenues of about $88 million.
