Great Falls Development Authority asking for three mill economic development levy

Cascade County Commissioners will vote Tuesday whether or not to place a three-mill levy on the November ballot for economic development in Cascade County.

The levy is spearheaded by the Great Falls Development Authority http://www.gfdevelopment.org/ , which has been working on economic development as a public/private partnership for 15 years

"The private sector has been putting in about $450,000 a year," said Brett Doney, President and CEO of GFDA, "and we’ve always felt like we have been doing economic development with one arm tied behind our back."

Doney seeks to turn the process into a true partnership through this mill levy that is to be used with three goals in mind that "address problems we’ve had in Great Falls for decades."
