Montana Department of Revenue Awards Contract to Fast Enterprises, LLC For New Tax System

The State of Montana Department of Revenue signed a
contract with Fast Enterprises, LLC, a New York based company that
specializes in providing services and products to government revenue
agencies.

Fast successfully completed the evaluation process and won the
bid to replace the current POINTS system.
Linda Francis, Director of the Department of Revenue, said, "Fast brings the
experience and commitment to revenue systems that Montana needs.

Fast has
been successful in implementing and managing revenue systems in Idaho, New
Mexico, Louisiana, and two Canadian provinces."
James Harrison of Fast Enterprises said his firm "is pleased to be
partnering with the Montana Department of Revenue and getting started on a
redesign of its tax system. Fast recognizes the urgency of this project and
has committed the resources necessary to accomplish the project."
In August 1998, Fast released GenTax, the first commercial off-the-shelf
(COTS) integrated tax processing package developed for departments of
revenue.

Fast will oversee and install GenTax as Montana’s new system and
train employees to operate the system, initially for processing income tax
withholding by employers, rental car tax, and combined oil and gas tax.
According to Francis and Brian Wolf, Chief Information Officer for the
state, the time may come when Montana would use a single system for all its
other taxes as well.
