Gallatin Valley Farm to School receives $100,000 grant, looks to expand programs

The Gallatin Valley Farm to School program http://gvfarmtoschool.org/ was selected to receive a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The federal program hands out 65 grants a year to programs around the country aimed at increasing the amount of local food in schools.

Farm to School Executive Director Sam Blomquist found out Monday it had won the grant.

"We are really excited. It’s certainly a big accomplishment for us," Blomquist said. "To get a federal grant of that size is a vote of confidence in what you are doing and an investment in Montana."
