Butte-Silver Bow residents could see 40-percent increase in water rates
June 4, 2017 /
Residents and businesses in Butte-Silver Bow would see a 40-percent increase in water rates over the next three years under a proposal county officials say is necessary to fill a growing revenue shortfall.
The deficit between money collected from ratepayers and actual operating costs for delivering clean water has grown from about $136,000 in fiscal year 2014 to nearly $305,000 this past fiscal year, county budget officials say.
