Wanted: Entrepreneurs to re-purpose Harlowton, Montana armory

The city and the Wheatland County Commission will have an open house at the vacant Montana National Guard Armory 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, May 19, so perspective new owners can come up with ideas for its use.

The Montana Department of Military Affairs will put the building on the auction block May 31.

The property includes 12,698 square feet on 5.5 acres on the west edge of town.

"Our community has many assets, including great highway connectors and access to public services, including high speed internet," Mayor Jeff Sell said.

He highlighted , Rocky Mountain Cookware and Cream of the West as manufacturers who make the most of business in Harlowton.
