Community Development Projects Boost Jobs, Infrastructure, Access to Affordable Housing – April 17-22 is Community Development Week

Each year, more than $5 million is awarded to Montana towns for community development projects that improve infrastructure, access to affordable housing, and increase training and job opportunities. The Montana Department of Commerce is recognizing National Community Development Week, April 17-22, by celebrating the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

"Montana’s vibrant towns are what attracts visitors, entices business owners to stay, and creates a healthy place for our kids to grow," Director Pam Haxby-Cote said. "A ribbon-cutting on a CDBG project means that a local community has planned and invested well, setting down roots for a more dynamic and secure future."

CDBG funds support local projects allowing communities to address their greatest development needs. Here are a few recent examples of this work:
