Celebration And Showcase Of The First Cohort Of UM's New Master's Of Science In Business Analytics, 4/26, Missoula

April 18, 2017View for printing

Jakki Mohr and I invite you to a celebration and showcase of the first cohort of UM's new Master's of Science in Business Analytics, Wednesday, April 26, from 5:30-7:30 at the Garlington Lohn & Robinson community room.

UM's first cohort of 13 students will graduate from UM's new Master's of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program in May. These students have become proficient data analysts with tools such as Python and R, using APIs to pull data from Twitter feeds to analyze social sentiments, working with large data sets to find meaningful insights across a wide range of business and organizational problems, and mastering effective communication strategies including compelling story telling and visualizations.

These students have cultivated an important and valuable skillset that will help local businesses better compete in a global economy by harnessing the power of data, making business more efficient and data-driven.

Many of you have been involved in the Big Data Alliance, helped inform the curriculum and launch this exciting program - the first MSBA program in the Pacific Northwest. Therefore, we would be honored if you would accept our invitation to meet these students, hear about their capstone projects, and make a toast to celebrate their accomplishments.

Please RSVP no later than Monday, April 24th so that we can plan for the right number of food/beverages
