Montana DES Releases Grant Guidebook to Local Jurisdictions for the homeland security grant-making process

In an attempt to clear up confusion in the homeland security grant-making process, the Montana Disaster and Emergency Services Division (DES) has released a grant guidebook distributed to local jurisdictions.

The three volume guidebook will serve to notify these jurisdictions on what grants are available as well as the procedures they need to take in order to receive the money. In addition to listing all available grants, the guidebook also has the necessary applications with detailed information on how to complete the grant process.

Additionally, the DES staff members will provide technical assistance to any local jurisdictions requiring help. The guide can be acquired in hard copy, by CD, or can be downloaded from the DES website. Montana has received $21 million from the Department of Homeland Security to be used for equipment, training, and other preparedness measures. Related Links:
