Montana Republicans on House panel kill bill to protect LGBT against discrimination

Republicans on a House committee Monday voted to kill a bill that would make it illegal to discriminate against lesbians and gays in Montana.

The House Judiciary Committee vote 11-8 along party lines to kill House Bill 417, with all Republicans on the panel voting it down. All Democrats voted to pass it.

The bill is dead unless a super-majority of 60 or more House members votes to revive it.
