Startup funding ends 2016 on a high note in Washington state – VC funding leaped

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

After a rocky start to the year, Washington state startups ended 2016 strong and with a lot of fresh cash in their pockets.

Companies raised $290 million in 38 deals during the fourth quarter of the year, according to the quarterly Dow Jones VentureSource report being released Thursday. That’s a 25 percent jump from the same period last year.
