The importance of Montana’s career and technical education classes

Montana education specialists say the future of career and technical education (CTE) courses is promising, but not without its challenges.
The state of Montana requires students to take one credit of CTE. That could be a class in business management, agriculture or family and consumer sciences education — to name a few.
These classes focus on preparing students for future careers, but oftentimes they are the first to go when budget cuts weigh heavy on a school.
