Montana Community Development Corporation Receives New Market Tax Credits

(U.S. Senate)–Senator Jon Tester today announced the Montana Community Development Corporation has received $90 million in New Market Tax Credits to help create jobs and grow rural communities across the Treasure State.

"This job creating investment will help small businesses open their doors in the pockets of our state that need it the most," Tester said. "I have seen firsthand the important role New Market Tax Credits play in Montana’s economy, and I will continue to ensure that the folks at the Montana Community Development Corporation are able to access this critical tool to help create jobs and increase economic activity."

As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Tester was able to secure this historic investment that will help create jobs and increase economic activity in underdeveloped and low-income areas.

The Montana Community Development Corporation participated in a highly competitive nationwide application process to secure $90 million in New Market Tax Credits.

In recent years, New Market Tax Credits have been used to revitalize numerous commercial districts across Montana, including the new Cameron Family Center in Great Falls, historic Sears Building in Butte, and the Garlington Building in downtown Missoula.
