Blackstone LaunchPad at the University of Montana - Entrepreneurship & Economic Development Intern The Blackstone LaunchPad at the University of Montana is seeking an intern to be part of the LaunchPad team and work closely with the Missoula Economic Partnership (MEP) and facilitate collaboration between the LaunchPad & MEP with respect to startups and economic development.

The Blackstone LaunchPad at the University of Montana https://www.umt.edu/launchpad/ helps students, alumni, faculty, and staff turn their ideas, skill and passions into real world businesses and non-profit organizations.
MEP http://www.missoulapartnership.com/ helps connect businesses with the programs, resources and people that can accelerate their success. MEP focuses on Business Retention and Expansion (BRE), Attraction (business and workforce/talent), and Startups and Entrepreneurs. Their staff serve a central role in a broad, collaborative effort involving 120+ business, individual and government investors as well as more than 30 strategic partners, all of whom share our vision of a vibrant, growing and diversified regional economy.
Given their related missions effective communication and collaboration between both organizations is essential and the Entrepreneurship & Economic Development intern will play an important role in achieving this.
Entrepreneurship & Economic Development Intern Duties may include:
Shadowing and assisting MEP's staff at meetings and events with investors, entrepreneurs and business partners
Assisting with specific MEP initiatives or programs that increase or facilitate economic development activity; research projects
Meet and greet students and other visitors to the Blackstone LaunchPad space in the University Center
Respond to visitor questions
Respond to phone calls and e-mails to the Blackstone LaunchPad Participate in Blackstone LaunchPad events and activities Administration
Provide administrative support as needed (e.g. scheduling meetings, organize catering, printing and graphic needs, activity reporting).
The Director of the Blackstone Launchpad at the University of Montana and the Vice President of MEP
Hours & Location
Up to 18 hours per week. Work may take place in the LaunchPad, at MEPs offices and in meetings/events around Missoula.
Role Requirements and Experience
Passion for and demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship, start-ups and/or economic development
Outgoing, high energy personality
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
