Have you heard? One Montana is hosting an Online Pitch Contest for Montana high school aged students (Shark Tank business-type pitch contest, not baseball)

October 12, 2016View for printing

Prize $ and sponsorship contributions are rolling in.

Montana entrepreneurs are getting geared up as Mentors and Judges.

Are students ready to win?

Endorsed by Montana Superintendent of Schools Denise Juneau and Director of Montana Department of Commerce Meg O'Leary, the Challenge is a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on Montana's most entrepreneurial-minded high school students. Given the significant role business startups and small businesses play in Montana's economy, encouraging today's youth to see themselves as engines of tomorrow's prosperity is essential for our state's future.

Important Challenge dates to note:

October 1: Online contest platform opens for submissions.

November 1: Submit by November 1 and receive feedback from a mentor. Mentors are Montana's entrepreneurs and business leaders. Students can then refine and resubmit a more nuanced entry by the December 1 deadline.

December 1: Contest closes. No additional submissions will be accepted.

December 2 through 14: A panel of judges comprised of Montana's professional entrepreneurs will evaluate entries. They will select 1st Place and Honorable Mention winners in each of the two submission categories.

December 2 through 14: The public is invited to view the videos and cast their vote for the People's Choice Award.

December 15: Winners announced.

If you have questions or are intending to make a pitch- send us an email Challenge@OneMontana.org so we can be sure to identify a mentor and/or judge for your upcoming entry. New and existing businesses may apply- run by high school aged teens. Enter your 1st draft by November 1st and your submission will be reviewed by an Entrepreneur Mentor!

The Challenge is on.... Are you ready?
