City Club Missoula Presents: Prison Reentry: What It Means To Missoula, 10/10, Missoula

October 4, 2016View for printing

The transition from incarceration back to the community can be a complicated process. Transitional and permanent housing, employment, behavioral health treatment, and social relationships are some of the challenges faced by those leaving the prison system and hoping to become contributing citizens. At the same time, community members have questions about safety and security for their own families and workplaces as people who have served their debts to society come back into our neighborhoods and workforce.

City Club Missoula's October forum will focus on community challenges and opportunities to reduce recidivism (a return to prison within three years) through policy and community attitudes.

The panel of speakers will briefly discuss the issues in their respective areas of expertise, after which attendees will discuss among their tables, followed by the opportunity to pose questions to the panel.

Featuring Kim Lahiff, Department of Corrections Bureau Chief; Eran Pehan, City of Missoula's Director of Housing; Amy Chesebro, MSW; and Robert Howe of Good Neighbors Montana Monday, October 10, 2016
