Center for Economic Development Newsletter – September 2016

Over the past month, CED staff took part in community meetings to help several communities plan their new economic development strategies. See below to read about their work.

This month’s interactive Map of the Month shows the percentage of bachelor’s degree holders whose degrees are within science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) fields. And in this month’s "Our Region at a Glance," we showcase the most recent health rankings for our region. Check out where your county sits in the rankings!

We also highlight three upcoming events that we believe will be very beneficial to attend. The first one is a free workshop that reviews techniques and strategies to accelerate federal sales. The second is The Butte College Small Business Development Center’s annual Women in Business Conference. For anyone who is interested in developing, managing, or growing their career, this is a great conference with a ton of useful information and opportunities. Finally, keep an eye out for the Central Valley Venture Forum which will be coming up in November.

Don’t forget about our 17th Annual North State Economic Forecast Conference, which will be held on Thursday, January 19th, 2017. See below for further information, and be sure to register today in order to secure your Early Bird price!
