Manufacturing Luncheon And Panel To Kick-Off Flathead MFG Day And Events, 9/20, Kalisell

WHAT: Members of the media are invited to join the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce and partners at its September luncheon featuring the many faces of manufacturing and the economic impact manufacturing has on Flathead County's economy.
WHO: Mike Nye, Operations Manager from Applied Materials and Chairman of the Manufacturers Alliance is scheduled to present an update on the work of the Alliance and its 2017 initiatives. Panelists are to include Clint Walker, Executive Vice President of Falkor Defense, Mary Tuck owner of Kalispell Kreamery; Shane Ackerly, Vice President of Nomad Global Communication Solutions; Tom Anderson, owner of Glacier Precast Concrete; and moderator Bill Nicholson, Business Advisor for the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center.

The 3rd Annual Flathead Manufacturing (MFG) Day and series of events will begin tomorrow, September 20, with a Kalispell Chamber luncheon featuring the Flathead Valley's many faces of manufacturing.
A panel of four managers and owners of local manufacturing companies will speak about the challenges and opportunities that go hand in hand with starting and operating a business in Northwest Montana. Panelists will also speak about the variety of regions their companies serve across the US and globe, and why they have chosen to locate and keep their companies in the Flathead.
In an effort to support the workforce for local manufacturing, members of the Kalispell Chamber's Manufacturers Alliance have joined together to offer two scholarships for students in the manufacturing trades programs at Flathead Valley Community College. The Chamber will present a check to FVCC President Jane Karas and the two recipients, Karl Dirham and Patrick Kling.
The Chamber will also be announcing a scholarship initiative to support the new Brewing Sciences and Operations program at FVCC.
Attendees of the luncheon will also have the first opportunity to sign up for the myriad of free facility tours and seminars scheduled to celebrate Flathead MFG Day and the month of events following. Flathead MFG Day is the local celebration of National Manufacturing Day which is Friday October 7 this year; however there are 26 events scheduled from September 20 through October 28.
