Talent drain: Montana has trouble keeping young college graduates

Only 38 percent of Montana University System bachelor’s degree recipients who major in engineering – and 55 percent of STEM degree holders overall -are employed in Montana within their first year after graduation.
According to Bryce Ward, associate director at the University of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research, Montana’s economy simply lacks the capacity to absorb young college grads.
