Communications Director – (16141705)

Description:

As the Communications Director for the Department of Commerce you will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the department’s public information program. The position represents the agency to governmental and legislative bodies, business organizations, and other agencies; develops public relations strategies and programs to support and enhance business expansion, economic development, housing, tourism, community development, and energy; and serves as quality control for all department communication products and efforts. The Communications Director uses a wide variety of media outlets including newspaper, radio, television, videos, PSAs, internally printed materials and the Internet and reports to the Department Director and Deputy Director.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communication, or Marketing plus five (5) years of progressively responsible job-related experience in Public Relations, Journalism, Business Relations and/or as a Communications Director.

Administrative Assistant – MTIP Program – (16141646)
Description:

This position is the Administrative Assistant for the Montana Technology Innovation Partnership (MTIP) Program. The Administrative Assistant assists the MTIP Program Manager with the administration, monitoring, and evaluation of the program. The position will use the NeoSerra client management information system for tracking and reporting the program activities. The position will support MTIP outreach and public relations activities; coordinate MTIP seminars/events and conferences, and provide administrative support for the daily functions of the MTIP Program.

This is a full-time temporary position, not to exceed one-year, which is funded by an annual Federal and State Technology (FAST) grant. Funding beyond September 2016 is dependent upon Federal grant approval. If additional funding becomes available the position may be extended.

Qualifications:

MT Promotions Officer – (16141688)

Description:

The Montana Office of Tourism and Business Development (MOTBD) is responsible for tourism development and multi-dimensional marketing of the state as a year-round travel destination. MOTBD is charged with developing and implementing a master travel marketing plan to increase tourism visitation to Montana, thereby strengthening Montana’s economy through increased visitor expenditures, state revenues, and travel trade-related jobs. Employees work closely and cooperatively with the private sector to create a positive environment for tourism and film location growth in Montana. MOTBD is also responsible for promoting the state as a filming location for feature films, commercials, television, documentaries, music videos and still photography. The Film Office provides information, scouting and support services to the motion picture industry, including producers, directors, location managers and studio executives.

This is a full-time temporary position, not to exceed one-year. While in this temporary position, you are eligible for full benefits. You would be eligible to become a permanent status employee through a competitive selection process.
