Columbia Falls, Montana reeling with another major loss of jobs

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

State Sen. Dee Brown, R-Hungry Horse, spent part of Thursday writing a letter and returning a $170 donation Weyerhaeuser Co. made to her political action committee.

"In all good conscience, I have to after yesterday," Brown said. "I’ve always supported logging, and multiple use, but you know, corporate America does not think like small-town Columbia Falls does."
