Voices: ‘Mr. Wilson’s Cabinet of Wonder’ is an education in itself
May 30, 2016 /
What do mice on toast, human horns and a scaled model of Noah’s Ark have in common?
They’re all on display at the Museum of Jurassic Technology (MJT) in Los Angeles, an institution housing eclectic objects spanning the globe and history. Seems a perfect spot for a college class field trip — at least, that’s what my politics seminar professor, who took us there, had in mind.
The museum, founded in 1988 by David Wilson and his wife, Diana, was the subject of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Mr. Wilson’s Cabinet of Wonder, which explored the role of museums in education.
