Today’s TED Talk – Adam Driver: Why I bring theater to the military

Before he fought in the galactic battle between the dark side and the light in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Adam Driver was a United States Marine with 1/1 Weapons Company. In this disarming talk, he narrates the story of how he became a Marine, discusses the complex transition from soldier to citizen and tells us about Arts in the Armed Forces, a nonprofit that brings theater to military. "Self-expression is just as valuable a tool as a rifle on your shoulder," Driver says. Followed by a spirited performance of Marco Ramirez’s "I am not Batman" by Jesse J. Perez and Matt Johnson.
