Super Heroes and Super Books: Job Service Pulls Out the Stops for Montana Employers

"Fighting for Truth, Justice … and Your
Business," reads the attractive mailer that is arriving in business inboxes
across the state.

What’s going on here?

Is it the return of the Man of
Steel?

Is it X3: The Xecutives?

No, it’s JobLINC, a One-Stop employment
resource represented locally by Job Service, flying in to deliver a free
essential guidebook, "Hire with Your Head," to employers everywhere – or at
least in a wide swath of Montana.

In a continuing campaign to alert employers to JobLINC services designed to
meet their employment needs, Job Service is mailing businesses to offer them
a Staffing Solutions Kit. The kit includes the popular book, which is a
step-by-step guide to recruiting the right people, asking the right
questions during the interview, and identifying the people best suited to
fill their positions.

"We know that many employers think state agencies are designed only to help
job seekers and certainly we do that. But we have an intense focus on
serving employers, who are an essential driving force of our state’s
economy," said Wolfgang Ametsbichler, manager of the Missoula Job Service
Workforce Center.

The five-month informational campaign is part of a nationwide pilot program
to increase awareness and utilization of public workforce services, which
provide employers with free-of-charge information and assistance in locating
qualified job seekers, all without having to tap a variety of sources.

The theme of the informational campaign is "Super Heroes," referring to the
business advocates at the Missoula Job Service Workforce Center who provide
personal assistance to businesses through their specialized knowledge of the
local employment market.

In addition to helping businesses find and
pre-screen job candidates, representatives assist them in understanding
regulations and provide human resources consulting customized to fit
business needs.

JobLINC also provides the largest on-line database of job seekers in the
state, which can be accessed at http://www.mtjoblinc.com
.

In addition to the database, the website
contains a wealth of local economic data, wage trends, and other helpful
business management information.

Over the course of the campaign, employers in target areas of the state will
receive further information about how Job Service, as part of the JobLINC
workforce system, can meet their employment needs.

Job Service Workforce Centers are located in Billings, Hamilton, Butte,
Anaconda, Cut Bank, Shelby, Dillon, Kalispell, Polson, Glendive, Sidney,
Great Falls, Havre, Helena, Lewistown, Livingston, Libby, Thompson Falls,
Miles City, Missoula, Wolf Point, and Glasgow.
